Alamat (Legend)
Limited edition of 10 in bronze resin H64cm x W52cm x D26cm Alamat, is an interpretation of a well-known Philippine legend: The Origin of the Philippine Islands In the beginning, there existed only the boundless sky (Langit), the tranquil sea (Dagat) and, between them, the fickle wind (Hangin) in the form of a bird. One day the bird grew weary and thought of a way to amuse itself by cunningly pitting the sea against the sky. In her agitated state, the sea surged, crashing her waves against the sky. In defence, the sky hurled down rocks to supress the waves, eventually calming the sea. The bird, gratified, smugly perched on the rocks which eventually formed the Philippine Islands.
